Chris Brinsmead

Chris worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry with AstraZeneca since 1980 in local commercial roles in the UK and Canada, internationally on global commercial development of a portfolio of cancer medicines, regional management in Asia and leadership of a global techno-commercial group. Appointed Vice President Global Marketing in 1999, President of AstraZeneca UK in January 2002 and President of the ABPI in April 2008.

Chris is Chairman of a UKTI Life Sciences Board set up to market the UK as a base for trade and investment in life sciences. He co-chairs a Ministerial Industry Strategy Group [MISG] R&D committee with the Department of Health. Chris is an executive director of AZ Ireland, Chairs AZ’s UK Pharma business, and holds non-executive directorships of Domino Printing Sciences and Datapharm UK.
