Sophia Tickell
Sophia Tickell is the Director of Pharma Futures, a series of investor-led dialogues on how to reconcile the demands for short-term financial returns with the need to deliver long term value in the pharmaceutical sector and Chairperson of SustainAbility, the award-wining, independent think tank and strategy consultancy which for 20 years has worked with business to contribute to a world that future generations want to inherit.
An historian, Sophia worked as a journalist while living in Bolivia. She spent fifteen years of her career working on international development issues, first as a programme officer, then as a trainer in advocacy techniques in India, Zambia, and Colombia, and finally in policy, most recently as Oxfam Great Britain's Senior Policy Advisor on the private sector.
Sophia is the author of a number of publications, including The Antibiotic Innovation Study and Pharma Futures: Prescription for Long Term Value. Sophia is a Member of Morley Fund Management's SRI Advisory Committee, a member of the European Healthcare Innovation Leadership Network and of Vodafone's External Experts Forum. She sits on the Doughty Centre Advisory Council of the Cranfield School of Management. She is an alumnus of Al Gore's Climate Project.
