GTC DPhil Scholarship
Now in my third year as a GTC DPhil scholar, Green Templeton College continues to be an invaluable part of my Oxford experience, enriching it both academically and socially.
My research, supported by GTC, is about the post-conflict period in Kosovo. I focus on how international organisations attempted to build a multi-ethnic and peaceful state following the war in 1999.
Over the last three years, GTC has allowed me to conduct field research in Kosovo, where I interviewed staff from the UN and other organisations working in post-conflict peacebuilding. The College was also generous in enabling me to present my findings at several academic conference in London, New York, and Oxford.
Last academic year I served as Charities and Development Officer on the GCR Committee, organising events and raising funds for local charities and contributing to student representation on College committees. This year I've also had the opportunity gain teaching experience at one of Oxford's summer schools.
Throughout my time in Oxford I benefitted greatly from being a member of the GTC community. I was able to take part in the professional development sessions, as well as the College's own professional coaching programme - a very enriching experience!
Additionally, using the Library as well as sporting and dining facilities have been important elements of my Oxford life.
I particularly appreciate the fruitful interdisciplinary exchanges I have had with GTC students and fellows over a delicious lunch or dinner in the beautiful Observatory dining room.
"GTC not only made my DPhil research possible in the first place, the College community also enriched my experience in Oxford in many other important ways."
