GTC mHealth Conference 2018: “mHealth for Supporting Healthcare Workers in LMICs”

From Monday 21 May 2018
To Tuesday 22 May 2018

The recent adoption of smartphones by clinicians and healthcare workers in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) offers the potential to provide clinical and professional applications to support activities such as clinical decision making and continuing professional development.

This 2-day conference aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from LMICs to discuss approaches to the evaluation of mHealth projects that support healthcare workers.

On each day of the conference, we will hear directly from researchers involved in implementing mHealth projects in LMICs about the challenges and issues they have faced. Day 1 will focus on the challenges of evaluating complex mHealth interventions and Day 2 will look at how mHealth projects are co-designed and implemented to encourage user adoption. In the afternoons we will break out into groups to discuss the issues raised and the group facilitators will come back for a panel discussion which will aim to clarify the challenges and discuss potential solutions.

On the evening of the 21st May (Day 1), we invite you to join us for an evening talk by Dr Alain Labrique, followed by a drinks reception and dinner in Green Templeton College.
