RamirezOn 5 September, Professor Rafael Ramírez, Governing Body Fellow at Green Templeton College and Director of the Oxford Scenarios Programme and Professor of Practice, was awarded the British Academy of Management Education Practice Award 2017 for the development of the ‘New Life for an Old Trick: Teaching and Learning through the Live Case Method for Improved Impact of Business Schools’ programme at Saïd Business School. This award, established in 2016, recognises initiatives that enhance management learning and education.

Professor Ramírez received the award along with colleagues Kees van der Hiejden, Angela Wilkinson, Cynthia Selin, Cho Khong and Trudi Lang, each of whom collaborated on the Oxford Scenarios programme: a peer reviewed executive education open programme that combines theoretical and practical sessions to develop managers’ skills and understanding in reframing and rethinking strategic decisions. Professor Ramírez responded ‘We are delighted to receive this award and it is recognition of our role in enhancing the quality of scenario planning practice and research. Now more than ever, scenario planning is a vital skill within business and management – it is crucial to consider how disparate potential futures can properly inform strategy within and across organisations.’
