Emeritus Fellow Barbara Lorna Hudson has won first prize in the Plymouth International Short Story Competition. Her story, 'The Woman who slept with a Monkey', features a graduate student and an older woman, but it may not be what one might expect. It is available to be read here.

Barbara took to writing fiction after she retired from her social studies lectureship. She has had some 30 short stories published, and one novel, Timed Out (about ageing and internet dating). She would love to meet other fiction writers at GTC. They can contact her here.
