This seminar marks the launch of a NEW seminar series at Green Templeton College. In this first event, Dr Figueras will talk about the long-term challenges facing health systems in Europe.

The National Health Service and social care system have been central institutions in British life since the 1940s. In a time of unprecedented change, their future is uncertain. Health and social care systems in other countries, whether high-, middle- or low-income, face similar challenges. Short-term pressures and crises capture the attention of press, politicians and public. But there is an urgent need to consider the long-term question of ‘What kind of system can best provide the health and care of the future, whilst remaining both financially and politically sustainable?”

Questions and discussion followed by drinks in the Common Room.

The seminar is now full.

This is one of a series of Health & Care Studies Seminars organised by Fellows of Green Templeton College, Oxford.
