'Green Templeton College: Moments I shall treasure'
There are a great many enthusiastic and talented photographers at Green Templeton and in 2009 the College launched an annual photography competition open to all members of the College to showcase their creativity and artistic flair. The competition is made possible by the generous support of Dr Elman Poole, a Common Room Member and a retired neurologist living in Oxford, who has long had an interest in photography. His support has made it possible to award prizes to the winner and the runner-up of the competition.
The theme of the eighth annual Green Templeton Photography Competition is ‘Green Templeton: Moments I shall treasure’.
Time spent at Green Templeton College is very special to many people and so we are looking for original and interesting images that capture this aspect of our community. It might be celebrating a sporting victory or enjoying a musical event; time spent relaxing in the garden or on the tennis courts on a Sunday; friends you have made here; your favourite spot to study; or simply the view from a College window.
Feel free to interpret the theme as creatively as you wish and capture your favourite moment.
The winner will receive £150, with £75 for the runner up. Prizes will be presented at the Summer Garden Party in June (date to be confirmed).
The competition is open to all students, Fellows, staff and associate members who are members of the College in the academic year 2016/2017.
The competition closes on Friday 31 March 2017 - so make the most of the coming months and get out and about to take a winning shot!
Last year’s winner and runner up are shown above. If you’d like to see all the winners and runners up from the previous seven years of the Competition and discover what inspired them, there is currently a small exhibition in the Stables Gallery.
