Celebrating 50 Years of Management Studies in Oxford
June 2015 marked 50 years of Management Studies at Oxford University. Green Templeton College (GTC), together with colleagues from the Saïd Business School (SBS) celebrated this important anniversary with a one-day conference Management: Where Next? on 5 June 2015.
In the 50 years since Management Studies was established at Oxford, it has achieved much. This success is due in no small part to Oxford's approach, which is rooted in a desire to secure real world benefits from new thinking.
From its roots in the Oxford Centre for Management Studies and the former Templeton College, GTC has played an entrepreneurial role in building Management Studies, and is the University's pre-eminent graduate college for the subject, home to the largest number of management students and scholars (122 in the academic year 2013/14), and with many of its Fellows holding current faculty posts at SBS.
Whilst anniversary events in 2015 looked back at the many milestones that have been passed over the years, we also took the opportunity to look ahead at the next 50 years. As part of that, we asked our alumni to share their views about how the University can help to meet future challenges for executives and leaders.
