Terms of reference

  1. The Committee shall meet at least once each term and report after each of its meetings to the General Purposes Committee.

    Its main responsibilities are to:

  2. Maintain an overview of, and aim to enhance, College communal life – as expressed through, for example, College cultural and sporting activities (other than those organised and promoted by the Academic Committee), charitable initiatives, and “Domus” discussion dinners;

  3. Make recommendations on Common Room Membership and Radcliffe Common Room Membership (to the Fellowship Committee) and Visiting Common Room Membership (to the Principal);

  4. Advice on the planning and delivery of College events, such as the Foundation Dinner and Garden Party;

  5. Monitor and advice on the delivery of the Annual Ball;

  6. Receive an annual report from the College Wine Committee;

  7. Carry out any other inquiries or functions that may be requested by the General Purposes Committee and/or Governing Body at any time.
