Chris Winchester

Chris WinchesterChris Winchester is an Associate Fellow and member of the Principalโ€™s Circle at Green Templeton College, University of Oxford.

He is CEO of Oxford PharmaGenesis, an award-winning HealthScience communications consultancy that helps its clients in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, patient groups and academia to communicate medical evidence effectively. Chris studied Biochemistry at St Catherineโ€™s College, Oxford, leaving with a DPhil in 1997.

Following a brief stint as a management consultant, he started out as a Medical Writer 20 years ago, taking on more responsibility as his client work grew. As Managing Director and now CEO, he co-led a management buy-out to secure the ongoing independence of Oxford PharmaGenesis and continue its growth; the company now has 500 employees in Oxford, London, Cardiff, Cambridge, Basel, Melbourne and Philadelphia. He is Past Chair of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals, Co-founder of Open Pharma, a Director of Oxford Health Policy Forum and on the Board of the Friends of the US National Library of Medicine.

Chris believes that accurate and timely communication plays a vital role in evidence-based medicine and publishes and peer reviews original research and systematic reviews in this area and beyond.
