Medical Humanities Summer School 2020 – cancelled

*Due to coronavirus Covid-19 measures this summer school is not going ahead this year*

The 2020 Summer School has had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 crisis. This innovative week-long course cross-fertilises dialogues in a range of specific subjects (e.g. language and communication, ethics and philosophy, theology, philosophy, business and management, anthropology) through a programme of small group work, seminars, and lectures by Oxford professors and eminent visiting speakers. We are sorry to disappoint our students and lecturers and look forward to welcoming you on a future occasion.

A reading list cannot be an adequate substitute for the structured variety of our Summer School. But for those interested in a general introduction to the expanding field of Medical Humanities, click here for an introductory Bibliography.

Summer school participants 2019 had this to say:
‘expanded my mind and challenged my thoughts’
‘a must for any future academic or medic’
‘thought-provoking’
‘eye-opening’
‘intellectually challenging and full of discussion’
‘excitingly diverse perspectives’
