Islam and Political Justice in Plural Societies Seminar 4

Saturday 2 November 2024   10:00

Location:

Green Templeton College

Islam and Political Justice in Plural Societies is a postgraduate-run seminar series exploring the intersection between the Islamic tradition and political justice in conditions of religious pluralism. Through a series of five seminars delivered by leading academics, the sessions will explore questions about the congruence between Islamic and liberal conceptions of justice and the centrality of imperialist and Islamophobic discourses in Western political thought, exposing participants to a range of views on these issues. Questions can be sent to jacob.williams@gtc.ox.ac.uk

In this fourth seminar, Dr Joseph Kaminski (International University of Sarajevo) discusses the argument that Islam and liberalism are ontologically incompatible.

This is a hybrid session: a link to join the seminar online will be circulated to registered participants.
