Green Templeton Fellow Professor Rory Edwards Collins has been recognised in the New Year Honours announced on 31 December 2010, receiving a Knighthood for services to Science.

Professor Sir Rory CollinsProfessor Sir Rory Collins has been co-director of the Clinical Trial Service Unit since 1985 with Professor Sir Richard Peto, also a GTC Fellow.

Since 2005 he has also acted as the Principal Investigator and Chief Executive of the UK Biobank prospective study of 500,000 British men and women aged 40-69. His work has been in the establishment of large-scale epidemiological studies of the causes, prevention and treatment of heart attacks, other vascular disease, and cancer.
