Anatomy 2Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Willem van der Meer, 1617, by Pieter van Mierevelt

Green Templeton College is proud to be hosting the U.K.’s first ever summer school in Medical Humanities in July 2018. The summer school will accept ten undergraduates and five sixth-form students; GTC has generously provided bursaries for school students in need. Several GTC fellows are involved, both on the steering committee and as co-directors. Topics to be covered in the week-long course include observation, illness narratives, communication, medical ethics, ageing, diversity and gender.

One of the course directors, Peter Friend (Professor of Transplantation, Oxford University and Fellow at GTC), says ‘Oxford’s top academics will introduce students to the connection between the art and the science of medicine. This interdisciplinary course will teach students how to think in an integrated way.’

Applications are now open. Apply here, or, for more information, visit the summer school's information page here.
