MSc, International Health & Tropical Medicine
Amen is a physician with experience in the health service and development sub-sectors of Nigeria’s healthcare industry. Initially a clinical medical officer, Amen’s passion for equitable population health outcomes led to his focus on primary and preventive care – encompassing lifestyle medicine and planetary health fields – as well as social science and implementation research for public health interventions.
He is currently studying for an MSc in International Health & Tropical Medicine as an ExxonMobil Global Health Scholar and is interested in leveraging health information systems for evidence-based and effective policy formulation, programme implementation & management, and overall Health Systems Strengthening in Africa and other Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
Ultimately, Amen aims to improve health and consequently drive economic growth on the African continent. As a Digital Health Systems advocate, he is looking to partner towards innovating current tools and developing low-cost, contextually-relevant and disruptive technologies for deployment in LMICs through such pathways as reverse innovation amongst other novel approaches to health and economic development.
