Indira von Gierke
MSc Medical Anthropology
I aspire to work in health policy and, through my Masters, want to study the different meanings of health, illness, and wellbeing across time and place and among different societies. I am interested in public health, issues of prioritisation, and the prevention and management of crises. I have also recently developed an interest in biographical writing as a form of research.
As an undergraduate, I studied Social Anthropology and Geography and, because I would like to learn more about the biological and evolutionary sides of medicine, I am particularly excited about the interdisciplinary community at Green Templeton and its focus on health, care and policy!
Throughout my time at Oxford, I am also hoping to continue fencing, my hobby of many years.
