Juan Jardon Pina
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
I am a Mexican economist with a financial and foreign trade background in the MBA program at Saïd Business School. I look forward to take the most out of my experience at University of Oxford and Green Templeton College, while also enriching my network of talented and respected professionals from all over the world.
After earning my BA in Economics, I spent 2 years working for the Mexican Ministry of Finance where I got the chance to develop financial public policies. After that, I spent almost 4 years working at the Ministry of Economy, specifically in the Deputy Ministry for Foreign Trade, where I assessed trade and investment approaches for agreements and global fora such as G20, OECD and WTO.
Over the past 3 years I have been working as an investment banker where I have specialized in debt refinance and issuance, as well as M&A deals in the infrastructure and energy sectors. During my career I developed effective communication and organizational skills by working side by side with great professionals as teammates and supervisors such as high level officials and executive managing directors.
I am really passionate about how technology and financial education can simplify and innovate banking processes. I want to link the financial services’ expansion with its effective usage by creating the proper incentives. I truly believe that this notion can be seized to improve financial inclusion levels if the adequate products are designed.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing football and tennis, as well as board games with my friends and family. I particularly cherish spending time with my wife, watching TV shows/movies or exchanging views on our recent readings. I consider myself as a loyal, responsible, and outgoing person that is always trying to find the proper balance within work, academic and social activities.
