DPhil Management Studies
Magdalena is a Doctoral Student in Management Research at Green Templeton College and Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Her studies are funded by a Green Templeton College TECT fund (Templeton Education and Charity Trust), the Saïd Business School Foundation and a Saïd Business School DPhil Scholarship. She is under the supervision of Tom Lawrence and Alex Nicholls where she is researching the dehybridization of social enterprises.
Social enterprises are hybrid organizations that embody both a social and profit mission at their core. Her research focuses on what happens when one of these missions takes over and the hybrid organization transforms to a charity or for-profit organization.
Prior to starting her doctoral studies, Magdalena obtained her Bachelor of International Business at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada studying Strategic Management. She then received her Master in Management from ESCP Europe in Paris, Berlin, and London.
During her studies, Magdalena has also been quite active in college life, encompassing many roles from the moment she entered college. In 2017-2018, she was VP of the Ball Committee, 2018-2019 she was Co-Captain of the GTC Women’s Rowing Club, and from 2019-2020 continued her community involvement by being elected GCR President.
