Woo Wee Meng
Master of Public Policy
I am a sociologist by training, and I have always been drawn to people and their uniquely different stories — their motivations, trials and tribulations, and resilience. I have worked at the Ministry of National Development in Singapore for the past six years on various portfolios including parks and greenery policies, and food security policies. I am particularly interested in policies that activate communities and leverage ground-up energies. So it was serendipitous that my portfolios provided an ideal platform for me to work with passionate urban farmers to craft policies that were targeted and impactful.
I will be pursuing the Master of Public Policy course at the Blatvatnik School of Government. Having spent six years in the public service, I’m looking forward to taking a step back and reflecting on how best to improve things in my country, in the company of like-minded peers who will bring along their own knowledge, experiences, and stories. I’m also looking forward to meeting the wonderful people at Green Templeton.
