Families

Green Templeton is well-known for being a family-friendly college where children are welcome and, in particular, where students with children can find a supportive community. There aren’t many Oxford colleges with their own children’s play area!
The college has a wide range of self-contained flats and houses, some with their own gardens, which work well for students with families. Student parents and their partners can sign up to a mailing list for information about the college’s programme of fun seasonal activities for families with young children.
Children’s meals and high chairs are available at college lunches and suppers, breastfeeding is permitted in all areas of the college (and a private room will be found on request), and there is a room with baby-changing facilities.
The College Office produces a guide for student parents for incoming students with dependent children, and hold a welcome event in the first week of term to help student parents meet other families and get help settling in. They can offer initial help finding resources about access to childcare, school places and children’s healthcare.
The college’s Student Childcare Fund will reimburse up to £50 of childcare costs enabling student parents to attend college social or academic events, or carry out work for their course of study.
