Dr Abrar Chaudhury
Dr Abrar Chaudhury is a Research Fellow of Green Templeton College and a member of the Academic Committee, and a senior academic at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford with over 25 years of global experience in technology, consulting, and research.
Abrar’s work focuses on environmental management, climate change, sustainable development, climate finance and corporate purpose. Previously a British Academy Fellow in climate finance, he has collaborated with governments, funders, and institutions to address complex environmental and funding challenges.
Abrar is currently exploring the role of global climate funds, like the Green Climate Fund, and emerging technologies in advancing climate action in emerging economies. He also works with UNDP on funding climate resilience projects and co-leads the Oxford Climate-Tech Initiative, which produced the ‘Climate Tech Opportunity Report.’ His past collaborations include work with Oxford and EY Global on corporate sustainability, as well as contributions to projects funded by the World Bank, UKAID, and USAID across 15+ countries.
Abrar teaches and directs programmes in Oxford’s Custom Education portfolio, contributing to the MBA, EMBA, MSc, and Executive Education courses. He has published widely, including in the World Economic Forum, TechCrunch, Business Insider, Oxford Answers and presented at leading conferences like Academy of Management, Adaptation Futures, COPs
He holds a PhD in Environmental Change and Management (awarded best dissertation by the Academy of Management, USA), an MBA, and an MSc from the University of Oxford, and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant. Abrar is also the managing partner at Crowe Pakistan.
