Iain Critchlow Profile Pic On MountainsIain Critchlow is an Associate Fellow and member of Estate Committee at Green Templeton College, University of Oxford. Iain is currently the university’s Interim Director of Estates.

Estates Services is responsible for managing the University of Oxford’s estate within Oxfordshire. There are over 260 buildings used for teaching, research, administration, sport, libraries, museums and ceremonial events and another 180 properties managed commercially, including office space, warehouses and agricultural land and property.

Iain’s substantive role is the university’s Deputy Director of Estates (Strategic Real Estate). He has responsibility for the management of the commercial estate and all professional property matters, including landlord and tenant relationships, development, business rates and valuation projects. He also oversees strategic space planning for the university’s functional estate, as well as its residential and graduate accommodation portfolios. Iain also leads the university’s Town Planning function and estates data collection and management.

Iain has over 25 years of experience across the property sector, including Commercial, Residential, higher education, and Institutional Sectors. He joined the university in May 2012 and in March 2019 took over responsibility for leading the university’s Intelligent Client Function as Programme SRO – a role which provides the programme-level interface for the university’s joint venture with Legal & General.

Iain holds an MSc Real Estate (Distinction) from the University of Reading (2011) and completed his MBA (Exec) at the University of Birmingham (2003).
