Dr Máire Brankin
Dr Máire Brankin is an Associate Fellow at Green Templeton College, a social anthropologist, and an experienced executive coach. She is interested in organisational change, equal opportunities and the culture of organisations and passionate about improving the outlook and performance of individuals, teams and businesses.
Máire founded Oxford Executive Coaching in 1991, focussing on her own approach of one-to-one executive leadership development by helping people, especially women, cross the boundary from being professionals, comfortable working within their own peer group, to become leaders embracing multi-disciplinary teams with diverse backgrounds. Over 30 years, she has coached hundreds of senior people in both the public and private sector from the executive teams of NHS Foundation Trusts to the sales teams of major banks.
Máire has been a long-term supporter of Green Templeton College, especially through her connection with the Management in Medicine (MiM) programme. She was a founding Steering Group member and still presents regularly at MiM seminars on personal qualities, managing services and people, and working with teams.
In May 2025, Oxford Brookes University bestowed an Honorary Doctorate on Máire, recognising her as an exemplary alumna, celebrating her impactful career in leadership development, and highlighting her profound dedication to philanthropic causes, particularly her involvement as a core member of the Friends of the Oxford Brookes Gaza Scholarship. Her extensive volunteer work spans chairing ICAP (immigrant counselling and psychotherapy), pro bono mentoring for charities, and her involvement with Activate Learning Education Trust.
Through all her work and interests is a common thread of respecting the need for a culturally aware approach in working with people for positive change.
