Dr Neel Burton

Dr Neel Burton is an Associate Fellow of Green Templeton College, University of Oxford. He is a psychiatrist and philosopher, and the author of over twenty books.

His books include Psychiatry, The Meaning of Madness, Hide and Seek: The Psychology of Self-Deception, Heaven and Hell: The Psychology of the Emotions, The Meaning of Myth, Indian Mythology and Philosophy, How to Think Like Plato and Speak Like Cicero, The Gang of Three: Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, and The Concise Guide to Wine and Blind Tasting.

His work features regularly in the likes of Aeon and Psychology Today, and has been translated into several languages.

He is especially interested in how the ancients perceived and achieved mental health and human flourishing.
