Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct summarises how a positive environment for all at Green Templeton is fostered.
Green Templeton is committed to upholding an inclusive, open and collegial culture which promotes equality, values diversity and maintains a working, learning and social environment in which the rights and dignity of all members of the college are respected and supported. To this end, all members of the college community, including guests of college members, contractors on site, and anyone acting on behalf of the college off site, are expected to treat others with respect, courtesy and consideration at all times.
Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated. Unacceptable behaviour is defined as acting in a way that is rude or unreasonable, regardless of stress, frustration, or anger. It may involve acts, words, or physical gestures that could cause another person distress or discomfort.
Bullying, harassment, and victimisation are unacceptable. All members of the college community have a role in creating a thriving environment for everyone, free from these behaviours. All members are expected to familiarise themselves with their obligations under the college policies, in particular the Harassment and Bullying and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies; also, the Code of Practice on Freedom of Speech.
All members of the college community have a personal responsibility to comply with this Code of Conduct by:
- treating others at all times with dignity, respect and courtesy;
- preventing any form of harassment by engaging with relevant training and information as required;
- recognising that senior staff and fellows of the college community have particular responsibility for
setting standards and ensuring appropriate behaviours are maintained. Senior staff will act as
appropriate to respond to any reported breaches of this Code.
