Alumni Profile: Michael Lee

Michael Lee (MBA, 2006) is a seasoned financial executive with over two decades of experience navigating the evolving landscape of banking and capital markets across Greater China and the Asia Pacific region. He currently leads a team of financial institutions bankers at a major Chinese bank in Hong Kong, where he oversees strategic engagement, cross-border financing, and regional growth initiatives. His career spans senior leadership roles at international and regional banks, with a focus on corporate strategy, business development, and institutional partnerships. 

Michael began his professional journey at a global consulting firm in New York, where he honed a rigorous analytical mindset and cultivated a global perspective—qualities that continue to shape his leadership approach today. His transition into financial services was driven by a passion for solving complex problems and building bridges between markets, cultures, and institutions. 

An alumnus of Oxford’s Saïd Business School, Michael credits his MBA experience with deepening his strategic thinking and expanding his global network. His academic foundation in business management and finance has informed a career defined by operational excellence, cross-cultural fluency, and a nuanced understanding of regional regulatory frameworks and market dynamics. 

Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Michael is a connector of people, ideas, and institutions. He is passionate about mentoring emerging leaders, advancing financial literacy, and fostering inclusive leadership in the financial sector. He remains actively engaged with both the Green Templeton College and the broader Oxford alumni community in Hong Kong, contributing to thought leadership, alumni outreach, and collaborative initiatives that span industries and borders.

Michael is co-chair of the Green Templeton College Hong Kong Alumni Society.
