Join us on Friday 4 July for the GTC Black Tie Summer Party – The Alchemist’s Garden. As a nod to Oxford’s earliest scientists- the alchemists- we’ll perform some alchemy of our own, transforming the College grounds into a shimmering celebration for the final party of the year.
To ensure everyone has a wonderful night at the Summer Party, please read the information below as it contains crucial details about the event, including wristband pickup information and entry protocol.
Location
All guests will be admitted at the Green Templeton College front gate located at 43 Woodstock Road, OX2 6HG.
Admission
Entry will begin at 18:30.
For guests who have not yet picked up their wristbands, wristband pickups at the door will begin at 18:00 for 18:30 entry. Additional wristband pickup information is outlined below.
Final admission is at 21:00. No guest will be admitted to the Summer Party after this time.
Wristbands are required at entry. The wristband must remain on the guest’s wrist at all times. Loss or removal of the wristband might result in non-entry or removal from the Summer Party.
Entrance to the Summer Party is final. After leaving the event, attendees are not permitted to re-enter.
Upon arrival, there will be two lines:
- Guests who have already picked up their wristbands will be fast-tracked and admitted following a security check. All guests should bring a valid form of ID should they be asked to verify their ticket.
- Guests who still need to collect their wristbands will need to present (1) their OXEX ticket QR code and (2) a valid form of ID. Guests will then be admitted following a security check.
The GTC Summer Party ends at 1:00 AM on Saturday 5 July.
Wristband pickups
To ensure an expedited pickup process during the early wristband pickup slots or at the door, all ticketholders should be ready to present their OXEX ticket QR code and a valid photo ID to collect wristbands (ONLY national IDs, driver licenses, and passports will be accepted—Bod Cards will NOT be allowed).
Early wristband pickups will be held in the front courtyard at GTC.
The early wristband pickup slots are as follows:
- Thursday 3 July from 11:00 to 13:00
- Thursday 3 July from 15:30 to 17:00
- Friday 4 July from 11:00 to 13:00
- On the day of the Summer Party, guests may pick up wristbands at the front gates of GTC from 18:00 to queue for 18:30 admission. Wristbands will be available at the door until 21:00 (last admission).
Guests MUST put their wristband securely on their wrist at the time of pickup. For security reasons, guests may not take the wristband to put on later. The wristbands are single-use, meaning that once a wristband is secured onto the wrist, it cannot be removed without cutting the wristband off. Therefore, wristbands must remain on the wrist until the guest leaves the Summer Party. If a guest prefers not to wear their wristband before the Summer Party, they should plan to pick up their wristband at the door when arriving for the event.
Cloakroom
There will be a cloakroom available in the Stables Gallery. Signs and a map will direct you to the cloakroom upon entry.
Party Map and Schedule
The map and schedule of vendors and entertainment will be shared with guests on the morning of the Party via email. The map will also be shared on our social media on the night and posted throughout the party.
Dress Code
The dress code is Black Tie.
Dietary Requirements
There will be a wide range of food available at the Summer Party, including multiple options for guests with the most common dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal). All common allergens will be clearly indicated at food stations. However, if you have a severe or uncommon allergy you feel we should know about, please send an email to summerparty@gtc.ox.ac.uk.
Reusable Cups and Recycling
To reduce the amount of single-use plastic at the party, GTC will be providing reusable cups at the entrance to the Summer Party. Attendees are encouraged to use these reusable cups at any vendor that serves alcohol, soft drinks, or water. There will be hydration stations scattered throughout the party where guests may rinse their cups between drinks. The hydration stations will be clearly marked on the map.
If you need a new cup for any reason, DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR REUSABLE CUP. There will be reusable cup return stations located throughout the party where old cups can be swapped for new cups.
At the end of the night, all reusable cups should be returned at the return station at the exit gate. We thank you for your partnership in our effort to make GTC more sustainable!
Please pay attention to the labeled bins for each type of waste. Putting the right rubbish in the right bin will help us to recycle properly.
Safety Information
The Committee reserves the right to refuse admission and act as it deems necessary in the interest of the safety and security of the Summer Party and its guests.
No outside food or drinks are allowed.
Drug and Legal High Policy
GTC has a zero-tolerance drug and legal high policy. Attendees may be searched upon entry and may be refused entry if drugs are found. Any attendee who fails to comply with the drug policy entry requirements will not be admitted to the Summer Party and their ticket will not be refunded.
Welfare and First-Aid
On the night of the Summer Party, the Porter’s Lodge will be your first point of contact for any access, welfare, or first-aid issues. The Lodge is located just inside the entrance gates to GTC and will be clearly marked on the party map. If you require prescription medication on the night, please bring along a medical or pharmaceutical note which can serve as evidence that it has been prescribed to you.
Smoking
There will be a designated smoking area on site that will be clearly marked on the map. Smoking will not be allowed outside this designated area.
