Green Templeton student analyses Ecuadorian elections

Malvika Gupta

Green Templeton student Malvika Gupta (DPhil International Development, 2017) has been writing for the media about her research on plurinationalism and the Indigenous movement in the light of the ongoing presidential elections in Ecuador.

Malvika interviewed Leonidas Iza, one of the sixteen presidential candidates and leader of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE), in a conversation published by the North American Congress on Latin America.

She has also written an account for The Conversation of the role that Iza and his platform are playing in the election, which began last week and has now reached a run-off between Daniel Noboa and Luisa González.
