GTC Big Band Update

The Green Templeton College Big Band was formed in 2019 and is open to students, academics and staff. It has also welcomed students from other colleges, which has helped to open up opportunities to meet others from across the university, and widen their opportunities for musical events.

Since the band was started, 78 musicians have at one time or another played with the band and the current roster of available players is 42.

Recents and future events

• Friday 1 December 2023: end of term pre Christmas Party in the Stables Bar
• Thursday 18 January 2024: charity fund raising event for Sobell House at Hill Top Golf Club, Oxford
• Saturday 2 March 2024: charity fund raising event in the Auditorium at Magdelan College.
• Saturday 1 June 2024: St Antony’s College Ball as a Headline event

Each year the band loses and gains some players, so anyone in GTC wishing to gain experience playing in Big Bands is very welcome to explore opportunities for playing.
