London alumni reception 2025
Principal Sir Michael Dixon
welcomed over fifty alumni to the London Alumni Reception 2025 at Trowers & Hamlins law firm on Thursday 3 April. Joined by different generations of alumni, he introduced the keynote speaker, Research Associate Dr Heloise Stevance.
Heloise, a Computational Astrophysicist, spoke eloquently about the Radcliffe Observatory’s significant historical role and enduring contributions to astronomy. She emphasised the college’s renewed engagement with that history over recent years. She commented on how that was evidenced through appointments and fellowships, including her own.
Dr Meera Joshi (Clinical Medicine, 2010), chair of the London Alumni Chapter for 2024 and co-chair for 2025, honoured the outgoing committee and celebrated the chapter’s achievements: ‘It’s been a genuine delight – a grassroots success. The growth we achieved has surpassed every expectation.’
She continued, ‘A voluntary framework and blueprint for running this chapter were created, enabling the establishment of other alumni groups worldwide.’
Meera concluded by introducing new committee members, including co-chair Nick Andreou (MBA, 2018). Nick articulated the purpose and importance of global alumni networks, reflecting on his own experiences:
‘When studying at GTC, being President of the GCR was hugely rewarding – organising events and creating meaningful connections. Many found lifelong friendships and even partners. The goal now is to extend this vibrant community beyond Oxford.’

He concluded with a motivating call to action: ‘Get involved, bring your energy, and bring more alumni into our community. Let us know how the group can add greater value. All alumni are encouraged to connect via WhatsApp or LinkedIn.’
Cultivating dynamic local Green Templeton communities across the world remains a key priority for the college. Those interested in joining or actively contributing to the London chapter committee can contact alumni@gtc.ox.ac.uk.
The reception was made possible by the support of a generous donor, with the receipts from alumni who purchased tickets being donated to the student support fund, which elevates the student experience at Green Templeton each year.
