Maki Sekiya to give piano recital in March
Green Templeton College’s Musician-in-Residence Maki Sekiya will give a free piano recital in Hilary Term.
The Japanese-born virtuoso pianist will perform a programme including one of Beethoven’s most revolutionary works, his last piano sonata Opus 111, in the Observatory Common Room on Sunday, 10 March at 17:30.
Tickets are available to the Green Templeton community now. As demand is likely to be high, reservations are limited to two per person. Reserve your place at Maki’s recital now.
Maki was appointed as Green Templeton’s first Musician-in-Residence in 2017 and her recitals have been hugely popular, with more demand than tickets available, so make sure you secure your place soon.
As well as being Musician-in-Residence, Maki has participated in the college’s GTC Performs! events and organised early evening concerts at the college featuring talented young musicians from local schools including the young choristers of Worcester School.
Born in Tokyo, she currently lives in Oxford after studying at the Purcell Music School in London and the Moscow Conservatoire.
