New strategic philanthropy short courses
Green Templeton has established a formal collaboration with Polycapital Academy to jointly offer courses and programmes in strategic philanthropy. The aim is to offer wealth holders and wealth adjacent professionals the opportunity to explore how to deploy resources effectively for societal good. The first programme to be offered is a 10-session online Strategic Philanthropy Course that introduces the fundamentals of strategic philanthropy.
Subsequent programmes are planned to build on this foundation. These include a multi-day Strategic Philanthropy Summit at the college for those who have completed the online course, enabling participants to apply learning, share experiences from their own philanthropic practice, and situate that work within the current landscape of global philanthropy. A longer-term programme focused on advanced skills in impact leadership is also under development.
Academic Committee Chair Alan Silman said, ‘We are delighted to collaborate with Polycapital Academy on these strategic philanthropy programmes, whose aims include ensuring that philanthropic funding makes the greatest positive impact on the world that it can. The college believes that philanthropy deserves a place at the academic table, and as an institution where research and practice enjoy parity of esteem, Green Templeton is an ideal place to promote excellent research and education in philanthropy. This new collaboration will help to put our Global Philanthropy Initiative firmly on the map.’
Sid Efromovich, CEO and co-founder of Polycapital Academy and Regeneration Group said, ‘This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to treating impact as a serious discipline. Building on years of providing education and advisory support to private wealth holders, our collaboration with Green Templeton College brings academic rigour together with real-world experience to support strategic deployment of private capital for effective impact’.
