Stephanie Dakin joins Global Scholars Program

Stephanie DakinResearch Fellow Professor Stephanie Dakin was a recipient of the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) Global Scholars Program in its latest round.

The Program is a competitive initiative designed for innovators from invited institutions to gain funding for breakthrough science not covered by traditional grant support. Through this initiative, NIBR supports projects focused on novel science with the objective of being translated to drug discovery and/or clinical research.

Stephanie said: ‘I am delighted and honoured to be recognised as a recipient of the NIBR Global Scholars Program and look forward to establishing a fruitful collaboration with Novartis. This strong collaborative link between academia and pharma provides a unique opportunity to catalyse the development of new therapeutic strategies for tendinopathy treatment.’

Stephanie Dakin is an Associate Professor of Musculoskeletal Sciences, a Versus Arthritis Career Development Fellow and Chair of Directors of the Taught MSc in Musculoskeletal Sciences at NDORMS, University of Oxford. Stephanie is also a veterinary surgeon and spent her early career as an equine vet with a particular interest in musculoskeletal injuries in horses.
