MSc Global Governance and Diplomacy
2021
Hi, I’m Jacob and I completed my undergraduate degree in International Studies at Leiden University in The Netherlands. Pursuing a multidisciplinary degree in International Studies allowed me to investigate topics holistically in order to uncover the interconnections between cultural norms, historical precedents, political structures, and economic imperatives.
Building upon my undergraduate experience, I am very excited to be joining the MSc Global Governance and Diplomacy course. During my time at Oxford, I plan on continuing to research topics which lay at the intersection between international relations and political economy.
Outside the classroom I enjoy playing chess with friends, traveling, cooking, and skiing. I also very much look forward to watching the debates hosted by the Oxford Union.

MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy
2019
I am a twenty-one-year-old Russian national residing in Austria and holding a BA degree in International Affairs & Journalism from the John Cabot University, an American University in Rome. As a provincial Russian girl who graduated from an international school in Vienna, studied in Rome, New York and Brussels, and speaks Russian, English, German and a little bit of French, Arabic and Italian, I see diplomacy as a key to achieving a more normative global equilibrium and a harmonic Russia-West co-existence. Thus, I dream to work for an international organisation such as UN or OSCE, in the field of international security, conflict resolution and counter-terrorism.
As for hobbies, I enjoy ballet, writing poems and love fashion. Back in Rome, I was entirely focused on studying – and became a valedictorian of my class. However, at Oxford I really hope to pay more attention to my social life growing and be a part of the Green Templeton interconnected and loving environment.
