Varsity Rugby 2023
The college congratulates Jack Statham (MSc Learning and Teaching, 2022) who has been selected to represent Oxford in this year’s Varsity Rugby match on Saturday 25 March.
Jack was a successful recipient of a full Blues Grant, which is supported by donations to the college.
The Varsity Matches, otherwise known as the Battle of the blues, represents the pinnacle of amateur and student rugby. It is an iconic game between Oxford and Cambridge universities, with the first match being held over 150 years ago Saturday 10 February 1872 in University Parks, Oxford.
The womenβs Blues kick off at 12:30 followed by the menβs Blues at 15:30. Both matches against Cambridge will take place at Twickenham Stadium β the home of English rugby.
The college wishes Jack and the team all the best as they hope to secure another victory against Cambridge at the weekend.
Tickets are still available for the varsity matches
Congratulations also to Libby Jennings (DPhil Molecular and Cellular Medicine, 2019) who played for the women’s 2nd team, the Oxford Panthers, on Sunday 12 March and helped them secure a 19-15 victory.
