Health and Safety

Accommodation

Room key and access card

You will have received a room key and access card on arrival.  Please keep these with you at all times as these will allow you to access different areas of college.

Your room key can be used only to open and lock your room. Your access card will allow you to enter the college itself and any buildings to which you have been given access.

To exit buildings, you will usually need to press a button on the inside.

Please remember to return your keys and access card to the lodge and vacate your room by 10am on the day of departure.

Remember

  • Always lock your room when its unoccupied however brief your absence
  • Do not tamper with any access doors or attempt to enter any area to which you do not have access
  • Do not loan your access card or keys to anyone

Porters Lodge

The Porter’s Lodge is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, acting as reception and site security. Should you have any questions this is always a great place to start. If they can’t answer your question, they will know someone who can. The Lodge can be contacted on +44 1865 274770. The lodge should be your first point of contact in an emergency.

Laundry Facilities

Please note that there are laundry facilities located on the main site.  If you wish to use these facilities, please speak to a member of the Lodge Team.

Health & Safety

Please do familiarise yourself with the fire regulations posted on your corridor and in your room. If you discover a fire, sound the alarm and evacuate the building. If a fire alarm sounds, you must vacate your room and building. Please note that the fire alarms are tested every Wednesday morning for a short burst. There is no need to evacuate for this test.

Accommodation & Facilities

Bedrooms are cleaned and linen changed once weekly either on a Monday or Friday.  Please keep all areas clean and tidy, including common areas such as kitchens and laundry facilities. Communal areas are cleaned daily Monday to Friday.

Please inform the Lodge of have any maintenance issues.  Any instances of accidental damage must be reported to your organiser immediately.

Please be aware that for cleaning and maintenance purposes College staff will be permitted access to rooms. College staff may also access the room of any visitor should there be any suspicion of inappropriate activities occurring therein.

They will be no access to the Library, Hayloft or Common Room, or use of the coffee machines.

Catering

Meal service times are as follows:

  • Breakfast will be served from 8:00 to 8:45
  • Lunch will be served from 11:40 to 12:30

Guests & College Gates

Access to the College is via the main entrance only. Please note that additional guests are not permitted without prior arrangement with the College for security reasons.

Deliveries

We understand that you may want to take advantage of Deliveroo or similar services during your stay, you are most welcome to do this but please be aware that the Lodge is unable to take any deliveries to your room so please do arrange to meet your delivery driver outside the main gate.

If you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Lodge and they will be happy to assist.
