The Super Bowl is the final game of the American Football League (NFL) season and the winner becomes that season’s champion and are crowned ‘World Champions’. There are 32 teams in the NFL who play a regular season between September and December. The top twelve teams make it to the playoffs in January and the top two teams then play in the Super Bowl.

Grab your Super Bowl event kit!

Even if you don’t follow the season, the Super Bowl it’s still a great excuse to get your household together so grab an event kit and watch for its famous half time show and even the adverts! This year, three-time Grammy Award winner, The Weeknd, will be performing which is worth a watch.

Each event kit contains:

  • hot dog (pork or vegan)
  • hot dog bun (gluten free available)
  • sauces (ketchup and mayonnaise)
  • crispy onions
  • sweet and salted popcorn
  • Carlsberg or kombucha soft drink
  • United States flags, hot dog tray, red cups, straws and popcorn box

How to watch the Super Bowl in the UK

The Super Bowl will be shown on TV with live coverage starting at 23:00 GMT on BBC Two before switching to BBC One at 23:30 on Sunday 7 February. If you don’t fancy staying up that late, you can catch up on BBC iPlayer

The total game time is 60 minutes, made up of four 15-minute quarters. However, the Super Bowl can take over four hours. This is due to the half time show and lots of commercial breaks featuring over 100 adverts!
