How to Apply
Applying for Graduate-Entry Medicine (GEM) and Clinical Medicine (2nd BM) involves different processes and deadlines from standard postgraduate courses at Oxford and GTC.
GEM applicants must apply through the UCAS application system. The deadline for submitting an application is 15 October every year. As well as submitting a UCAS application, it is a requirement to register for and sit the BMAT admissions test, and submit a supplementary application form. Please see the GEM prospectus on the Medical Sciences Division and Oxford University websites for full details of the course structure, how to apply and FAQs including deferred entry policy.
Oxford pre-clinical medicine students may apply to continue and complete their clinical studies at Oxford (years 4 to 6) and if they wish, they can also apply to transfer from the college where they are completing pre-clinical studies to another Oxford college offering the 2nd BM for their clinical years training. The process for applying starts in January of the 3rd pre-clinical year at Oxford, and college offers are normally made in March or April of that year. Please see the Clinical Medicine pages on the Medical Science Division website for full details of the course structure of years 4 to 6, how to apply and FAQs including deferred entry policy.
