Student parents handbook

Congratulations on your offer at Oxford and Green Templeton College! As you probably already know, Green Templeton is a graduate college. This, together with our specialisations in medical research and management training, means that our students are more likely to come to us later in life and to bring along their spouses, partners and children.

We aim to be a family-friendly college and work actively to improve our support for student parents. We now offer an Associate Membership scheme for partners and/or spouses of Green Templeton students, in recognition of the contribution they make and the support they provide to the wider Green Templeton community.Β For student parents and their children, we aim to run at least one termly event too.

Families are welcome to use our communal spaces at all times when not being used for dedicated college events, with the exception of the Hayloft and the Library. We ask that children/young people under-18 are accompanied by a responsible adult. Parents remain responsible for their safety.

We recognise that returning to study with your family can be challenging. We aim to help where we can, and beyond this, to signpost you to appropriate external advice. A good place to start is the Oxford University Welcome Service. It provides lots of really useful information for new members of the University and their partners and families
