DPhil Primary Health Care
2021

Tori FordI am a feminist health researcher from Montreal, Canada. I completed a BA in Gender Studies from McGill University and an MPhil in Health, Medicine, and Society from the University of Cambridge. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Primary Health Care focusing on improving patient experiences of chronic sexual health conditions.

Inspired by my own experience with chronic illness, medical dismissal, and self-advocacy, I founded Medical Herstory: an award-winning international not-for-profit on a mission to eliminate sexism, shame, and stigma from health experiences. Medical Herstory combats gender bias in medicine through storytelling, education, and empowerment. My work advancing gender health equity has been recognized by UNWomen, the Harvard Public Health Review, and the Government of Canada. I am a recipient of the McGill Scarlet Key Award and the University of Cambridge Vice-Chancellor Social Impact Award.

If you see me around campus don’t be shy to say hello- I’m always up for a good chat! I am so excited to connect with other students at Green Templeton and build community.
