The perfect location
The beautiful eighteenth-century Radcliffe Observatory is the central focus of the three-acre Green Templeton College site.
Construction began in 1772 and the building functioned as a working observatory from 1773 until 1934. The iconic Observatory currently houses Green Templeton’s Common Room, dining hall and kitchens.
Celebrating your day
The Tower of the Winds is at the very top of the Radcliffe Observatory with wonderful views of North Oxford. Aptly named after the Horologion of Andronikos Kyrrhestes in the Roman Agora in Athens.
Green Templeton College is a non-licensed venue, offering celebration ceremonies.
The Tower of the Winds has the capacity to host up to a maximum of 50 guests.
Accommodation and parking are available onsite, subject to availability.
Packages
Wedding ceremony celebration packages start from £2,500 (plus VAT) which covers the hire of the Tower of the Winds for two hours, Common Room, seating and a dedicated Event Co-ordinator.
Alumni of Green, Templeton and Green Templeton colleges are eligible for a 20% discount.
Post-ceremony drinks are charged upon consumption.
Drinks and food packages are available as an additional option.
Rehearsal Dinner
We can offer a rehearsal dinner the night before your ceremony (subject to availability).
Our catering team is renowned for superb food made from quality ingredients, presented with care and artistic flair.
The Dining Hall is situated in a lovely octagonal room on the ground floor of the 18th Century Radcliffe Observatory.
Pre-dinner drinks and post dinner coffee are taken in the first floor Common Room.
Capacity
- The Dining Hall seats up to 60 guests
- The Grzeslo Room, adjacent to the main Dining Hall, seats a further 12 guests
Accessibility
- Please notify us if your group requires accessible access to the Observatory as a ramp can be placed over the steps at the entrance. There is no lift access to the first-floor Common Room.
- Toilets are on the ground floor (including disabled facilities)
Price
- Venue hire £500 (plus VAT) – includes Common Room to host pre-dinner drinks
- Three-course dinner £65 (plus VAT) per person
- Reception drinks and table wine from £19.95 (plus VAT) per bottle. Please see our wine list.
