LGBTQ+

The Graduate Common Room committee elects a LGBTQIA+ Officer each year, to run a lively programme of social events and welfare activities, and have a voice in the everyday running and future plans of the college. Relevant dates are marked by gestures large and small, including the flying of a Progress Pride flag in June and regular Diversity Dinners to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month. The college library holds a special collection of books on LGBTQ+ culture, stories, history and politics.
Students can also speak to Rainbow Peers, a group of Student Peer Supporters who have received special training in LGBTQ+ issues from the university Counselling Service.
Our commitment to anticipate and respond positively to the needs of trans, non-binary and gender fluid members of our community is outlined in more detail in the collegeβs transgender policy.
The college does not tolerate homophobia or transphobia and has a zero-tolerance policy on harassment.
