Dr Marc Thompson

Mark Thompson, Governing Body Fellow of Green Templeton CollegeDr Marc Thompson is a Governing Body Fellow and a member of Fellowship Committee, Green Templeton College and a Senior Fellow in Strategy and Organisation, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

Marc is the Academic Director of the Oxford-HEC Executive MSc Change Leadership, a joint venture between Oxford Saïd and HEC Paris. He teaches negotiations on the EMBA, MBA and Executive Education programmes and brings his expertise on change to a wide variety of programmes and activities in the School.

His principal research focus is on organisational change from systems to individual level with a particular interest the design and impact of innovative models of organising. He views organisational change as an on-going accomplishment enabled by the work of many actors at different levels. Consequently, he is optimistic about the ability of organisations to innovate and change to meet grand challenges.

His current projects include finalising a book Opening Change which develops a new framework to approach organisational change and ongoing research on the role of experimental spaces in change. A recent paper on the lab phenomenon and change received an award for an outstanding scholarly contribution. His other publications include the Oxford Handbook on Meaningful Work and a book on public values and city leadership.

At Green Templeton Marc has fulfilled several roles, including Academic Tutor and Admissions Tutor.
