Dr Seung Joo Lee
Dr Seung Joo Lee is a Research Fellow of Green Templeton College and an Associate Professor of Finance at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
He received his PhD in economics from University of California at Berkeley. He studied physics in college and once had a dream of becoming a theoretical physicist. During his PhD, he served in the Republic of Korea Army for three years as a first-lieutenant assigned at Korea Military Academy, which was a rewarding experience.
Seung’s research interests are about financial markets, global macroeconomy, and various policy responses. His current focus is on various unconventional monetary policies employed by central banks around the world to tackle shortcomings of the current monetary policy framework. He enjoys discussing military history and politics in his spare time, and hopes to contribute to the college’s vibrant culture.
