Philanthropy in the Humanitarian Sector
Eighteen charity and multinational organisation leaders, consultants, philanthropists, and scholars gathered on 25 June 2026 at Green Templeton College to examine the place of philanthropy in the humanitarian sector.
Meeting as part of the college’s Conversations in Global Philanthropy discussion series, participants heard from Ruta Nimkar, Green Templeton DPhil student in Migration Studies and co-founder of Meraki Labs, on the state of evidence generation and uptake in the sector. Ruta’s three case studies – on localisation, gender, and referrals – informed the group’s subsequent discussions of how philanthropic actors might support the production of new forms of evidence for the sector, and make best use of evidence when planning their own interventions.
