Bio

I’m a clinical psychiatrist, academic researcher & freelance writer. After graduating from Medicine, I undertook Foundation Training in Oxford and Clinical Psychiatry training at the Maudsley Hospital in London. Throughout my training, I held clinical academic posts (AFP & ACF) at the University of Oxford & King’s College London, funded by NIHR. I am currently undertaking a Wellcome Trust-funded research fellowship in Psychological Anthropology at the University of Cambridge.

My research interests span cross-cultural psychiatry, digital mental health and psychopathology relevant to social cognition. I’ve led projects on cross-cultural patterns in mentalising, the relationship between autism and personality disorder diagnoses, the prediction of patients’ responses to antidepressant medication and digital phenotyping research related to social communications, sleep monitoring and psychosis.

Alongside clinical and academic medicine, I have a keen interest in public engagement and writing for a general audience. I am currently working on my first book.
