By the fireside is a special time we get to sit with our grannies to hear stories about our culture, our ancestors and learn valuable life’s lessons told as folktales. At this a virtual event to celebrate the Black members of our community and our college’s cultural diversity we will be entertained by lovely poems live from George the Poet! The event will also include:
- An introduction to our new library collection: Maarifa
- A briefing about the GTC Black Mentorship Programme
- Reflections on the past year’s events and initiatives: BLM Movie Night and collaboration with AfriSoc for the Afrobop & Trivia, The Black Students’ Society and the forthcoming physical campaign with DifferentEqual lanyards and lapel pins.
- There will also be a short quiz with prizes to be won!
All GTC members are welcome to join via Zoom with registration required.
