About the event
There is an increasing focus on complexity-informed approaches across healthcare research and practice. This attention takes several forms but often involves framing programmes as ‘complex’ to explain why they are not working as expected in practice or to justify the use of particular research methods. In this interactive session, we will discuss what complexity means and how we can draw on it more productively when working through and researching change in healthcare systems.
About the speaker
Dr Chrysanthi Papoutsi is a Research Fellow at Green Templeton College and Associate Professor at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford. She is leading a research programme on the social study of digital health, using qualitative methods to examine how sociotechnical innovations are co-produced, implemented and used in complex health and care settings.
