This talk will explore how healthcare will change as it embraces rapidly evolving technology. The speaker will outline how many of the clinical problems that are currently faced can will be solved by digital health solutions. He will review the fundamentals of data science and how big data and big processing power has led to the age of AI.
Several examples of AI in Medicine will be discussed and the speaker will highlight the importance of recognising the inherent risks of using AI in healthcare. This will establish the urgent need for the development of Responsible AI. Finally, the speaker will bring it all together demonstrating how digital health technologies can enable innovative concepts such as virtual hospitals, but real healthcare.
About the speaker
Former visiting student Professor Derek O’Keeffe will speak at this alumni event.
